Who offers counseling to children and teens?
The Ridgefield Youth Service Bureau is a nonprofit agency that offers free and confidential counseling to Ridgefield children and families. The office at 90 East Ridge Road is open by appointment. For more information, call 438-6141. Family & Children’s Aid Child Guidance offers mental health services for children, adolescents and their families. Call 748-5689. A 24-hour Mobile Crisis Service may be reached at 1-866-543-2774. Kids in Crisis supervises an outreach counselor at Ridgefield High School. She works full-time during the school year. She is independent of the guidance department but works closely with it. The organization Kids in Crisis is available to young people 24 hours a day by calling 327-KIDS. The Ridgefield Crisis Resource Team most often assists school personnel in helping students or staff members coping with a loss.
