Anyone who offers to sell, sells, or distributes a mercury-added product in a state that requires notification is required to complete a Notification Form and submit it to the Interstate Mercury Education and Reduction Clearinghouse (IMERC) or to each state requiring notification. The states that currently have a notification requirement are Connecticut, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina (automobiles only), Rhode Island, and Vermont.
