Who needs to be authorised under the Power System Safety Rules?
The Power System Safety Rules apply to all Tasmanian Electricity Supply Industry employees and contractors, who work on, or in the vicinity of Electrical Power System Installations and are required to sign onto an Access Authority. Access Authorities are used as a formal means for permitting work on Power System Apparatus that is under operational control, after it has been made safe for work, subject to specified conditions. Access Authorities are issued by an Issuing Officer and received by a Person in Charge. Persons actioning these responsibilities are authorised by the Signatory Companies and this is recorded in their Passport. Members of the work party, Instructed Persons are not authorised but their Passport must record they have successfully completed Instructed Person training.
