Who needs a Hunting and Fishing Legacy Permit?
The Fishing and Hunting Legacy Permit (required of most annual license holders) was passed by the 2004 Legislature. The law authorizes the Department to sell a $5 permit that would be used by the Department to purchase, lease, or purchase easements for property to be used for public fishing and hunting. The permit is required of most annual license holders who hunt, fish or trap, or attempt to take fish or wildlife in any manner. Anyone hunting, fishing or trapping must possess the Fishing and Hunting Legacy Permit except the following persons are exempt: · Residents of Oklahoma age 17 and under or 64 and older. · Anyone with any type of lifetime license issued by the ODWC (lifetime hunting, fishing or combination license, does not include lifetime waterfowl). · Anyone with any type of senior citizen lifetime license issued by the ODWC (senior lifetime fishing, hunting or combination license). · Residents with a 5-year disability hunting or fishing license. · Those fishing on Lake Texo
