Who narrates the story of frankenstein?
The story is a double and triple frame. The main narrator is the Captain of the ship caught in the ice of the Arctic Ocean. The secondary narrator is Dr. Frankenstein himself recounting his life. Another narrator is the monster telling Dr. Frankenstein what happened to him when the Dr. was not around to know. This (the monster’s frame) occurs when the Dr. and he meet on the Mer de Glace. The Dr.’s frame comprises the bulk of the novel. The Captain’s frame merely dominates the beginning and the end.
