Who must register?
The PA Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, 10 P. S. 162.1 et seq., requires organizations soliciting charitable contributions in Pennsylvania to register with the Bureau unless they are excluded or exempted from the Act. For additional information on excluded or exempt organizations in Pennsylvania, please refer to the Bureau’s Exclusions and Exemptions Chart.
All business organizations that do business with a contracting agency are required to register with the State and provide proof of that registration to the local contracting agency before the contracting agency may enter into a contract with the business organization, as follows: In response to a request for receipt of bids or a request for receipt of proposals, at the time a bid or proposal is submitted; or For all other transactions, before the issuance of a purchase order or other type of contract document.
Residents of Ontario must register if they: Have been convicted and received a sentence for a criteria sex offence in Canada and were: Serving a sentence which includes probation, parole, or incarceration on the day Christopher’s Law was proclaimed or Convicted of a criteria sex offence on or after the date the legislation came into force. Have been found not criminally responsible for a criteria sex offence by reason of a mental disorder on or after the date the legislation came into effect and later received an absolute or conditional discharge for that criteria offence Are young persons convicted of a criteria sex offence and received a sentence within the adult court under Section 16 of the Government of Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Every person subject to any of the local exposition taxes is required to register with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. Note: Even though you are registered for Wisconsin sales and use tax purposes, you are still required to register for the local exposition taxes. You will not be issued a separate exposition tax permit. You will be assigned a 15-digit local exposition tax account number that will be used for reporting the tax. If you are registering for local exposition tax, only use the Application for Business Tax Registration.
