Each public school district, board of cooperative educational services (BOCES), charter school, county vocational education and extension board and nonpublic elementary, middle and secondary school must adopt a comprehensive attendance policy by June 30, 2002. • Will a sample or model comprehensive attendance policy be available? • The State Education Department will not be formulating a sample or model policy. • The NYS School Boards Association has developed a sample policy.
