The VisaScreen Certificate is required for all foreign educated healthcare professionals (except physicians) who are seeking an immigrant visa or a change in status to permanent residency. VisaScreen requires that nurses must have passed either the CGFNS Qualifying Exam or the NCLEX-RN examination. Because the applicant has the CGFNS Certificate, s/he will not have to take another nursing exam to obtain the Visa. Their transcript is on file and may be used for the educational evaluation element of the VisaScreen program.
