Who manages the LifePath Portfolios?
The LifePath Portfolios are managed by Barclays Global Investors (BGI). For over 30 years, BGI has managed retirement assets and is one of the largest money managers in the world. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, BGI is owned by Barclays Bank PLC, a leading banking institution in the United Kingdom. BGI invented the first target date fund (the LifePath Portfolios) back in 1994. Over time, target date funds have become an increasingly popular approach in 401(k) investing. BGI currently has in excess of $17.3 billion invested in LifePath (as of September 30, 2007).
