Who makes the majority, abusive or loving mothers?
Clearly abusive mothers are a minority, that’s why we are so appalled to read the horror stories of mothers abusing children or standing back and doing nothing while someone else harms their kids. I think the real threat to society is the legions of mediocre mums that just don’t give a toss. The type that offer their children no guidance or support in how to be a useful adult. The type that sit on their backside watching their plasma tv(bought on benefits) while their rootless children roam the neighbourhood looking for trouble. I live on a large housing estate in Manchester and see this stuff everyday. One of my neighbours told me without a trace of shame that she had decided against aborting her latest unplanned pregnancy because the extra benefits would cover the catalogue payments for her new leather suite! A few years ago I had to get my youngest son tested for ADHD. Turns out he was fine, one of the mothers at our playgroup said to me “I bet you was gutted! You could have claimed
