Who makes the logistical arrangements for attending a conference?
Once your Program Specialist has all of the required information, AED can purchase your plane or bus ticket, pay your registration fees for the conference, and send you a check to cover your per diem expenses. In some cases, there are a group of students attending the conference together and so arrangements are made through the university or your department. Therefore, you may prefer instead to send quotes for travel expenses and/or registration fees. A check will then be mailed to you allowing you to pay the expenses directly yourself. Either way, you will always receive a worksheet detailing the costs incurred from the conference and the amount remaining in your conference allowance.
