Who makes the best sewing machine?
I’d look at a midline electronic myself, if you want to buy new… Bernina, Elna, Juki, Husqvarna/Viking, Pfaff, Toyota. Otherwise there are excellent used mechanicals around, though they tend to lack the many of the amenities that make sewing with an electronic so nice, such as very slow sewing without stalling, positionable needle, automatic tieoff, automatic needle up/down, etc. Most of us don’t need the singing, dancing, capable of doing calculus models of sewing machines… but if you look a little farther down into a line of sewing machines, you may well find that there are models that can make sewing much easier without all the bells and whistles.
