The claims with composite bats are that they get “hotter” the more you use them. The composite fibers loosen up and the bats have more pop as time goes on. This is not true with aluminum bats. They still retain and eventually lose the original amount of pop they had when they left the production line. The best news for college ballplayers is that most of the aluminum bats don’t carry the $300-400 price tag that composites do. There simply just isn’t as much technology that goes into the making of a composite or hybrid model of a bat, so manufacturers don’t have to charge as much for them.
