Who makes decisions about permits under the Aboriginal Relics Act?
In the first instance, all recommendations and considerations are presented to the Director of National Parks and Wildlife as per the Aboriginal Relics Act, who then makes a recommendation to the Minister holding the portfolio for Heritage. The Minister considers the protection of Aboriginal heritage along with economic, social and environmental considerations.
