Who maintains Flashing School Zone Lights?

The School Zone Flashers on roads withing unincorporated Douglas County are maintained by Douglas County Traffic personnel. They are set to turn on for the school’s start times and stop times (including kindergarten – typically around noon). Douglas County Traffic confirms start/stop times for each individual school annually by contacting the schools. The units are pager-activated and, unfortunately, malfunctions do occur.
