Who loves the Golden Oldies?
Yes, the early rock era was easily one of the most creative periods in recorded history. Those who claim to not like the oldies are paople who havn’t listened to them enough to give them a chance. Conversely, I like a whole lot of modern music, too. Again, to appreciate it, you’ve got to give the modern music a chance as well. OK, I like every artist and style you mentioned above but be aware that a large part of my top faves are done by the so called “one-shot” artists. Here’s a few absolutely great one-shot songs you should look for on Napster.com (Hunt for the song-clip on towerrecords.com if not on Napster).
I do. I was born in 1974. I guess it depends on who you are as to what you think a golden oldie is but I consider them more along the lines of what Brainstorm said. Actually I just made myself a cd from a bunch of oldies that I got off of ITunes and I love it as well as everyone else that has heard it-That includes my daughters ages 1 and 2 ! It has Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets, Buddy Holly, The Coasters, The Flamingoes (they sang “I only have eyes for you” which is one of my all time favorites, Fats Domino -even the Andrew sisters, etc…There is just something timeless about that type of music and it makes a lot of people happy, including myself !!
