Who Lined Their Pockets on the UN Iraq Program “Oil for Food”?
NEW YORK (RIA Novosti) – The independent commission set up to investigate corruption of functionaries of the UN Iraq “Oil for Food ” program will begin to hold intensive conversations with persons which interest it in mid-May, said Paul Volker, chairman of the commission, former head of the United States Federal Reserve Bank. The UN Secretary General assured me that the organization’s functionaries would be cooperative during investigation and that the commission would get full access to all related archives and documents, Volker said. The decision on conducting independent investigation into corruption within the program “Oil for Food” was taken by Koffi Annan on March 26 and was subsequently supported by the Security Council.
