Who likes good old english fish and chips?
Have to admit I don’t like the fish I have tried in England so far. Heard a funny story though and don’t promise it’s true but here goes. The Brits have always bought a lot of cod from Iceland for their famous fish and chips. In the old days, before the ships were equipped with proper freezers and they hadn’t thought of exporting fresh fish by airplanes, of course the fish wasn’t very fresh when it finally arrived in the shops in England. As they didn’t know any better, this not so fresh fish became very popular. Later, when all fishing boats were equipped with good freezers nd they started putting the fish directly on ice and it reached the fish shops a lot sooner than before the English complained about the fish and said it didn’t taste good! They didn’t like the fresh fish! I love fish and chips made in Iceland with fresh fish and I’m sure there are some chip shops there that serve good fish, I just haven’t found them yet.
