Who knows about hyphenated last names?

0

For me personally, I use two last names – my son’s last name first, hyphen, my husband’s last name. The social security cards will need to have both last names. After that you can do as you wish. I usually go by just my son’s last name on school-related things. On my husband’s and my joint account, I just use his last name. For work and my personal bank account I use my full hyphenated last name. It just depends on what you (or your children) want to do. I have a sister who is a professional (doctor) who hyphenated when she got married and uses her maiden name for her business. As far as “(i.e. if your bank has you registered in your hyphenated name can your pay cheque be in one name only)”… if you signed up with the bank under your full hyphenated name, then that is how you will sign your checks. I hope that helps.
