Ok how much amerage or power do you need in a alternator or battery to power 1 alpine type x 10″ sub with a 1208d hifonics amp would a 2003 kia sorento v6 engine power it fine (but please state how much amperage you need) Thanks Its wired at 2 ohms can it power it without the big 3 upgrade A: Depending on how you wire up the sub (4 or 2 ohm), you can expect around a 30-40 amp draw. You shouldn’t worry, though. As long as you perform the big 3 upgrade, use quality 4, 2, or 1/0 gauge power and ground wire to hook up the amp, and at least 12 gauge speaker wire to wire the sub to the amp, you will be absolutely fine. A stock alternator and stock battery will provide enough power. And please, for the sake of the sub, set your gains properly!
