In the season 2 episode “Cautionary Tales“, Hiro time-travels back to try to stop his father, Kaito, from being killed. But Kaito accepts his fate as having “already happened” from Hiro’s point of view, and talks Hiro out of changing history. But Hiro does freeze time in order to discover who has killed his father: Adam Monroe, the British man who posed as Takezo Kenzei in Japan in the 1600’s.
