Individuals who intend to marry fill our Norwegian Authorization of Marriage form first. Civil wedding ceremony is conducted by Notary Public after applying to National Register (Tax Office), or City Recorder’s Office (byfogdembete) or District Court (tingrett) as regulated by Norwegian Marriage Act. Parish church offices (Kirkebøker) are not allowed to issue certificates of marriage after 2004.
