Who issues birth certificates in Portuguese language?
In many cases, Civil Registry (Registro Civil of Republica Federativa do Brasil), Registry of Births, Marriages and Deaths, Interdictions and Guardianship at Registered Office, Office of the Civil Register of Natural Persons, and Vital Registry Office (in Sao Paulo State and in other cities) are authorized to issue birth certificates (certificate of live birth), marriage certificates, and similar civil registration documents. If you are originally Brazilian and lost your Portuguese birth certificate or need one for newborn baby, you may contact one of the consulate general office of Brazilian Embassy in the state near you or Embassy of Portugal if you are originally Portuguese citizen.
