Answered by a visitor on Jan 20, 2009 8:51 PM – William Willberforce was Christian Abolionist in England working for the demise of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. He toiled for many years, along with a faithful group, in His effort and finally saw the fruit of his labor in 1807! I encourage you to watch a movie called Amazing Grace – it is about his efforts and shares the origin of the song and the man who wrote it, John Newton! William Wilberforce fought long and hard for the freedom of many and now we have the choice to continue that fight or give up. I choose to fight!!
