Who is Trent Reznor?
Having played in several local bands prior, Trent Reznor appeared on the music scene in the early 1990s with his band Nine Inch Nails. Achieving fame with their 1994 album The Downward Spiral, Trent Reznor has released seven studio albums since the first, 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine. Pushing boundaries, NIN is an ever-evolving project. Known for the sonic sound-scapes, brutal guitars juxtaposed against soft piano, Trent has released his inner demons through the band. Once notorious for long periods between albums, a sober Reznor has changed for the better and begun a steady output of music since the release of the band’s six album Year Zero. He has also challenged the way fans receive the music, finally disentangling himself from a record label contract and going to direct distribution via the internet. Once described by Spin magazine as “the most vital artist in music”, no words could be truer today.
