The Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts is Professor Minerva McGonagall. She was also the Deputy Headmistress at Hogwarts. She is also the head of the Gryffindor House. Professor McGonagall makes her first appearance at the very start of the first book. She is one of the most favorite teachers at Hogwarts. Professor McGonagall is very strict. Unlike Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall does not take sides or support students of her house. She is one of Dumbledore’s best friends and supporters, and is ready to do anything for him. Professor McGonagall meets us as a person who values self-respect in the fifth book, when Dolores Jane Umbridge tries to insult and degrade every teacher of the school. She keeps her dignity and does not take any form of insult. Professor McGonagall provides Harry a Nimbus 2000 broomstick out of her own pocket.
