The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is a not-for-profit organization that officially took over operations of the .CA Registry from CDNnet (UBC Registry) on December 1, 2000. CIRA maintains the .CA database and sets the rules and procedures for the .CA domain. CIRA charges fees to accredit registrars and charges registration fees on each domain registration. Anyone who wants to register a .CA domain name must use a CIRA Accredited Registrar to process the application. For information on CIRA and its policies, please visit www.cira.ca.
