Who Is The Only Asian In The 2006 Sunday Times Most Wealthiest List?
The only Asian to appear in the Sunday Times’ ‘Richest List’ is Lakshini Mittal. He is also THE richest man in the UK and one of the richest men in the world. He was born on June 15th 1950, in Sadupur, which is in the Churu district of Rajasthan, India. His grandparents were relatively poor, but his father was relatively middle class and had a steel company. Mittal worked for this company before venturing out on his own, as late as 1994, he then established himself in London in 1995. He is now widely regarded as one of the world’s ‘super billionaires’ with wealth which accumulates daily to the point where it is hard to make an accurate reflection about the extent of his wealth. He is either the third or fifth richest man in the world. Mittal has attracted some controversy over the years and, through donations to the Labour Party in the UK has also been linked to political scandal.
