August 1, 2008 Dear Students/Alumni/Faculty/Staff, On behalf of Providence College, which has long considered teaching an integral part of its mission, the Teaching Award Selection Committee (TASC) invites nominations for the Joseph R. Accinno Faculty Teaching Award. This award recognizes a current tenured faculty member who not only demonstrates excellence in teaching, but also conveys a passion and enthusiasm for learning, and shows concern for students’ academic and personal growth. The faculty recipient of the award will receive formal recognition at the Spring Faculty/Staff meeting, a monetary stipend equivalent to a two-course overload, and have his/her name inscribed on a plaque displayed in the library. The Teaching Award Selection Committee accepts nominations of candidates from all Providence College students, faculty, administrators, support staff, and alumni.
