Who is the National Alliance Against Racial and Political Repression?
We’re a broad united front which we can use to create a people’s shield for all existing liberation movements. We have people ranging from the Communist Party and the Puerto Rican Socialist Party to the radical wing of the Democratic Party. Therefore, when we talk about the right of the Indian people to wage their struggle, we’re calling upon all progressive forces to stand up for their right to struggle. Do you actually mean you’re going to take up the causes of all these groups? No, we’re calling on all people who are potential victims of political repression to band together, to unite ourselves and build that shield…. Then we’re not faced with the situation where if one group comes under repression it’s picked off, destroyed. What’s an example? Look what happened to the Black Panther Party.
