Who is the most versatile actor & actress (English speaking) ??
Johnny Depp is probably the most versatile of the ones you listed. Although many of his movies involve him playing a mentally off character (Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Jack Sparrow in Pirates of Caribbean, the main character in The Secret Window, etc). Russell Crowe, I think is not that versatile. The only movie I can think of where he played a villain was Romper Stomper. Other than that he gas played many leader rolls or rolls where he must be vindicated (LA Confidential, Master and Commander, Gladiator, etc). Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep, well, they are excellent dramatic actors, but I think their versatility is limited. These are all excellent actors and actresses, hands down. Some would say Deniro, Travolta, and Pacino. But these guys too often play criminal or morally conflicted rolls. If I see Al Pacino in another criminal/gangster or cop roll, I’ll punch the nearest kitten. Deniro plays a cop too often as well. Travolta, he is typically in a roll wh
