Who is the most valuable pitcher: Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy, or Joba Chamberlain?
I have to admit, I thought the team with the most dispensable income would end up with Johan Santana this offseason. That said, I`ve never acknowledged anything the Yankees do with much adoration until their recent discovery that it just may pay to hold onto your elite prospects. Fantasy owners want to know which of the Yankees pitching prospects to covet the most this season and it goes beyond the fact that Chamberlain is ranked higher in every set of rankings I`ve seen so far this winter — at least until recent news that his role is back to being Mariano Rivera`s primary setup man. This isn`t the first time his role has changed this offseason, and I wouldn`t assume it`s the last. Nevertheless, it effectively reduces his value in redraft leagues, despite his strong 2007 numbers of a 2-0 record, 0.38 ERA, 12.75 K/9IP and 5.7 K:BB ratio in 24 major league innings.
