I’ll give the edge to Obama on animal welfare, since he’s basically for every other form of welfare in the universe.

None of them have taken an official stance on Animal Welfare. However, I think the closest one you will come to on that issue is Ralph Nader and his concern with Agriculture, where he’s promoting Organic Food Crops and Tough Regulation on Polluting the Environment.
