Sunbonnet Sue and her friend Overall Sam are popular choices for children’s quilts. Sue can be seen doing everything from showing off her pretty dress to working hard at house and yard work to playing with her friends. The Perils of Sunbonnet Sue is a fun site where each block has been turned into a short video. You can even email each “episode” as a e-card to a friend. Enjoy! Quilts with embroidered scenes were also popular for children. Several of the quilts shown have scenes with children and adults. Over the years, I’ve collected several vintage quilts depicting scenes of people doing things. The Sunbonnet Sue quilt I have was made as a gift when I was born.
