Who is the Mendocino Midwife?
Carla Stange is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner. For the past 23 years she has lived and worked in Mendocino, California. As a passionate advocate of alternative birth options, Carla was one of the first midwives in Northern California to study the benefits of waterbirth for both the mother and infant. Her belief in the instintive nature of birth has helped her guide over 1000 women through the birth process. Carla currently manages Mendocino Family Health Care, attends home and hosptial births, and In 2005, along with Marilyn Lemos, CBE launched Intuitive Doula, a distance learning/mentoring course to train and certify birth and postpartum doula’s. She is a graduate of the Frontier Nursing Service.
