Airbus delivered a record number of aircrafts last year (2008) to take the claim of being the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer. Boeing is their primary rival in this industry. The company is however expecting a slowdown this year due to worsening economic conditions. The company gained orders for 777 planes worth $100 billion at catalog prices. Boeing in comparison got orders for 662 planes.
