Who is the inventor of the Personal Computer Mouse and what brought her/him on the idea ?
Douglas Engelbart came up with the original mouse concept. He was working on a way for people to easily interact with the computer screen. The original description in his patent was X-Y position indicator for a display system”. They began referring to it as a mouse because the cord coming out the back looked like a mouse tail. In 1972, Bill English, the builder of the original mouse replaced the wheels with a ball. The original mouse had wheels and looked like this: I actually remember when the Popular Science article came out describing the mouse. I thought it sounded like a great idea but my father saw the end of computers only being usable by the technical elite. I remember him saying that with this invention soon any idiot would be able to operate a computer. He was right. Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_mouse, etc.
