Who is the instructor for the Jigoku Dojo and what is his rank?
Dr. Luke Molitor is the head instructor of the Jigoku Dojo and holds a Happo Biken Menkyo, which is above judan (10th dan), in the Bujinkan Dojo. Individuals ranked at judan or higher are referred to in the Bujinkan Dojo as Shihan, an expression implying someone who is a ‘teacher of teachers.’ Following the tradition and example of the senior Japanese Shihan, the instructors at the Jigoku Dojo do not openly list their rankings and licenses, instead preferring to be judged according to their character, knowledge, and ability.
