Who is the Downtown Network?
The Downtown Network is a committee of the Downtown Council whose members live, work or help to build downtown through the networking, socializing and contributing opportunities provided by the group. Although the group has been around for over 25 years, membership has tripled over the past 24 months due in large part to the growing popularity of its traveling monthly happy hours. The Downtown Network provides a variety of programming to its members including: a Professional Development luncheon series, Speed networking events, Lawn Bowling, Timberwolves/Twins game nights, Happy Hours, and volunteer opportunities with Alive After 5, Central Community Housing Trust, the Aquatennial Block Party and Target Holidazzle. The Downtown Network has become especially popular with top local employers that are seeking ways to quickly integrate their new recruits into the Minneapolis area.
