Who is the better footballer – Cantona or Zidane?
It depends, for starters they played different positions. In terms of natural talent, technical ability and pure skill, Zinedine Zidane is arguably the greatest French footballer ever (Didier Deschamps, Just Fontaine, Michel Platini and maybe Thierry Henry should not be forgotten), Eric Cantona was more influential on the field, plus his determination and consistency were second to none. When Cantona left Leeds United for Manchester United in 1992, he spearheaded the Red Devil’s most successful period in its 129-year history.
