I’ve just started having a house built in Houston and I’ve shopped around for a bit. My personal favorite (who I am having a house built by) is David Weekley. Definitely shop around, but if you can afford it, David Weekley is close to the top if not at the top. Trendmaker is also good but you have to be filthy rich to get one of their homes from what I’ve seen. Emerald, DR Horton, Ryland, and a few others are also ok. Avoid KB Homes and Perry. I have heard bad things about Plantation as well, but it’s just from one person and I haven’t looked into them myself.
