Who is the best digital still camera manufacturing company among Canon and Nikon?
Answer Rudra, Having experience with both sets of cameras I can tell you what my preferences are. I will also be honest in telling you that I have a substantial investment in Nikon equipment, but apart from that, I am also an engineer committed to basic facts. Both companies have excellent products so I will empahsize that you really can’t go wrong with either one. Each company has marketed their products at certain demographics. Know that if you pay $1,000 for a Nikon camera, it’ll be right up there in features and performance with a similarly priced unit from Cannon. Having said that, I often wish I had spent the extra $500 and picked up a Cannon 20D over my Nikon D70. The 20D is a fantastic camera, but so is the D70. My personal usage of the D70 has often exceeded its capabilities, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t with the 20D either. With the current pricing, I’d lean towards buying a Cannon system if you are in the $1200-1500 price area. Otherwise, below that price point, I’d go w
