Who is the Basic Ice Climbing Lesson for?
This lesson is for those who have never tried ice climbing before or want to brush up on the basics. Prior rock climbing experience is helpful but not necessary. If you have always wanted to try ice climbing, this fun, informative, one-day program will be perfect for you. What will I learn on the Basic Ice Climbing Lesson? You will learn how all the basic equipment works, how the safety systems function and how to move on the ice. All instruction is hands-on and we will spend as much time as possible climbing. By the end of the day you will have learned how to use a harness and tie into the rope, how to use anchors and ice screws, how to Belay another climber and how to use crampons and ice axes to ascend ice climbs of varying difficulties.
