Who is the audience for Future Food?

I really think our audience is everybody. That’s who we’d like to appeal to. There are things in this show that everyone can take something away from. Q: Your bio says that you created Alka-Seltzer bombs as a boy. You were into this crazy stuff even as a kid? A: I was definitely not into food as a kid. I was a picky eater. I would eat chicken and cheeseburgers and that’s it. But I was interested in science I just never thought it would end up as a career path. Q: Do you think the mad scientist label is a discredit to you or do you embrace it? A: I don’t think it’s a discredit; I think it’s actually a compliment because I’m into the old school B movies from the 50s. I think it’s kind of cool. But do I think it’s completely accurate? Not exactly. There’s definitely science and scientific process in our food, but none of us as chefs went to school to study science. We’re just really into what we’re doing.
