WHO IS SWITCHFOOT?
Jon Foreman – vocals, guitar Tim Foreman – bass Chad Butler – drums Jerome Fontamillas – guitar, keyboards Andrew Shirley – guitar Switchfoot started out with Jon, Tim, and Chad – three guys from San Diego who love to play music, surf and honor their Creator. The three grew up on the beaches of San Diego, surfing since their early teens, competing in national amateur surfing championships and earning product endorsements from Redsand Clothing, DSO sunglasses and REEF shoes. As long as they have surfed, they have also played music. And, while the guys have been friends for years, the band was not formed for quite some time. In the great tradition of overnight success stories, it was a crude demo recorded in Jon’s bedroom only a few months after they started playing together that found its way to producer Charlie Peacock’s home in Nashville.
