Who is supporting the ASSB and ASSA?
Recognizing the need to institutionalize the humane treatment of sheltered animals in our state, the Governor’s office has taken the lead on the creation of both the ASSB and ASSA. Governor Richardson’s proactive stance on this issue is supported by the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association, the Regulation and Licensing Division, the STOP Violence Against Women and Children Coalition of Bernalillo County, as well as by a number of public and private animal shelters and animal advocates.
