who is Spike Lee and how is he relevant to anything important?
Sheldon Lee was a skinny, geeky black kid who never quite fit in with the Italians in his childhood neighborhood (Carroll Gardens) nor was he fully accepted by the underclass blacks he went to public school with. He has had a chip on his shoulder ever since, and is obsessed with proving his “blackness.” That being said, he has produced a handful of good films (25th Hour, Crooklyn, Do the Right Thing, Summer of Sam) and a lot of crap (Miracle at St. Anna, School Daze, Girl 6) and a snoozefest film about Malcolm X.
