Who is Sir Toby Belch?
Toby Belch is the uncle of Countess Olivia. From what Malvolio says, “My lady bade me tell you, that, though she harbours you as her kinsman, she’s nothing allied to your disorders.”(II.iii), the audience is lead to believe that Toby is taking advantage of Olivia’s hospitality. Indeed, considering the fact that Olivia is mourning the death of her brother, Toby’s late night boozing is rather inconsiderate.
