Who Is Sanjaya Malakar?
Sanjaya Malakar is a contestant on the popular American television show ‘American Idol’. He is one of the top twelve American Idol hopefuls. He is a seventeen year old boy who first auditioned for American Idol in Seattle, Washington with his sister. His sister was not chosen by the judges and it was hard for Sanjaya to accept that his beloved sister would not be joining him on his American Idol journey. Sanjaya Malakar has been singing all of his young life and is most inspired by great singer such as Stevie Wander, Lauryn Hill, and Michael Jackson. Each week, Sanjaya stands on a stage in front of millions of television viewers and sings. The three American Idol judges make comments on his performance and the American people call in and vote to determine rather he will stay on the show or go home. He has made it to the top twelve singers (as of March 2007). He may become the next American Idol.
