Who is Saint James?
One of the two James’ of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ; He was called St. James the Great. (Better known as St. James the Greater among Taga-Ibaan). The son of Zebedee and Salome, and the brother of St. John the Evangelist. Jesus called the brothers, Boarneges meaning “son of thunder” because of their zeal. With Peter and John, James was one of the three privileged disciples who witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus and His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
